Witham dominated the early exchanges with the forwards gaining ground. Once the back were released, Liesz made one of her trademark runs to open the scoring. Kelly slotted theconversion. Clacton rallied and managed to get their winger free to run in their opening try. A bad landing for Gemma dropped the sides down to 12 but Witham were still creating chances. Thorey managed to cross the line but had the ball dislodged before she could ground it. However, when Larissa spotted space on the blind side, she demanded the ball, which she passed to Liesz to score again. Clacton managed to pull back a try but Witham took a 12-10 lead into half time. At half time, it was clear that Amber was hurt, so had to be taken off. Liesz made another break down the left and when 2 Clacton players tried to tackler her but collided. Liesz regained her feet and was free to run the ball in but the ref halted play as he was concerned there was a head injury.
After another break, Liesz was unable to carry on. It was her first game back after months out and she had to be helped off the field. A few minutes later, Ellie was caught in an awkward tackle and sustained an chilled injury. This took Witham down to 9 players with 20 mins left. Although a couple of injured players offered to come back on, their welfare is more important than this game. Therefore, Witham had to accept only have 9 able players which mean the game gets abandoned and given to the opposition.
